Photos from Loudoun County hate crime

NBC4.com has a six-photo slideshow of the destruction to two gay mens' property in Loudoun, thought to be a hate crime.

For more information check out Dave's blog with links in the comments to Fox's report that does confirm it as a hate crime. What I want to know is why the slide show did not show that the mailbox had the word "FAG" painted on it. That pretty much sums up that this was a hate crime.

I just want to say that the deputies have been very good on this case. They made clear from the beginning that this was being investigated as a hate crime (even though Virginia has no enhanced penalties for hate crimes. One of the deputies expressed how appalled he was by that fact.)

This is the first incident ever to be investigated as an anti-gay hate crime in Loudoun. We should have some pictures up later today that better illustrate the extent of the damage.

The important thing is that nobody was physically harmed, and the homeowners are determined to turn this into something positive that brings the community together.
